Another year and another Roctober! This event goes by many names…Sweetest Day Ride, Chocolate Ride, Chocolate Clunker, or what I always knew it as…Chocolate Clunker Cruiser Classic. Say that 5 times really fast. This ride is, by far, the largest clunker/cruiser critical mass ride we participate in here in Green Bay. It’s always held on Sweetest Day, which is appropriate, since we stop at three different confectioners between Green Bay and De Pere. As with all of our cruiser rides, we set a slow pace and encourage y’all to dust off those old single speeds and bring the whole family. There’s a skid contest and in the past, a tire tube blow-up contest. There have been prizes for best bike story, oldest bike, most unique bike…etc. So come on out! It’s a blast and a great chance to meet fellow riders and enthusiasts.
A few words about critical mass rides…we ride as a group, so stick together. Historically, we’ve averaged about 100 bikes on this ride, so we are definitely a presence on the streets. The hosts will lead us through our route and if a traffic light changes on part of the group as we cross an intersection, keep going (so long as it’s obvious that cars are stayin’ put). Let cars pass when possible and be vocal about traffic behind us or if a rider has a problem with their bike and needs to stop. If you have any questions or concern, shoot us an e-mail. And as always…

This one aint for you day-walkers…
Hosts: Skip Tooth Tigers
When: Saturday Roctober 1st, 10 p.m.
Where: Astor Park. The ride will take us to Lambeau Field and back, with some pit stops along the way.
Details: Its gonna be cool out, so dress for the weather (the ride will be cancelled in the case of rain), and it’s another night ride, so please be visible.
Bring yer full moon!

Well, I gotta tell ya, we set the bar pretty high for the Fish Fry Ride. The weather was crisp and clear, the food was great, and the ride went smoothly. Maybe it was the phase of the moon, or just the fact that it was Friday, but I’m guessing it was the stellar group we had.
I’d like to thank Bourbon Street for the excellent food and service and give a shout out to White Dog, Cropsey’s, and Lenny’s for welcoming us with smiles and cheer. And for those of you who participated in the ride, Cheers! Keep your eyes and ears open for the details on upcoming rides (mostly the Chocolate Ride on Sweetest Day). Also, if the weather cooperates, we may be able to squeeze another Friday night ride in. Ride On!

Heyo! Get yer bike and take that cholesterol medication.
We gonna get some fish!
(weather permitting)
When: Friday, Sept. 16, 7pm-?
Where: Meet at the White Dog on Broadway. We’ll have a beverage, get a head count before we ride to our destination, and stop at one or two establishments along the way.
Details: The restaurant we choose depends on the size of our group and how late they serve. Dress for the cool weather and we will most likely be crossing some busy streets, so try to be visible. In the event of rain we’ll reschedule.
See you at the bike rack!
