Green Bay mayor and Wisconsin Governor look at mobile bike repair with Green Bay Bicycle Collective

Mobile Bike Repair Green Bay

a partnership that keeps people on bikes

Launched in 2022, the Green Bay Mobile Bike Repair program is one of our newest programs and the first of its kind in our area. We’ve teamed up with the Green Bay Parks Department, Wisconsin Bike Fed, and after-school programs to help provide crucial bike repair services to those who need them.

The Mobile Bike Repair program provides free bicycle repair services to area youth, teens, and residents during the cycling season. Our bike mechanics travel to city parks, area schools, and bike trails to fix common issues that keep people off bikes, such as broken chains, sticky brakes, and flat tires.

We also support cyclists on group rides to help foster cycling safety for all ages and groups. The goal of the Mobile Bike Repair program is to keep bikes operational and remove common barriers to a sustainable mode of transportation.

In our first year, we visited several area parks in high-needs areas to provide bike repair services in Green Bay. Our aim in working within these areas is to connect with residents who need our services most and foster a community around cycling in Green Bay. Moreover, we can expand our reach beyond our physical bike shop, model and teach bike repair skills, and create a positive environment where kids and teens can hang out.

Locations we visited included Astor Park, Mather Heights, Leicht Memorial Park, Kennedy Park, and others.
