Mark Your Calendars! Giving Tuesday 2022 is tomorrow!

Want to make a difference in the Green Bay community and support causes you care about? This Giving Tuesday, November 29, you can.

What is Giving Tuesday?

A global day of giving and generosity, Giving Tuesday is about doing good. Whether you volunteer in your community, make a random act of kindness, or support a local, global, or national cause, Giving Tuesday is an opportunity to practice generosity. Giving Tuesday was created in 2012 and follows Thanksgiving and Small Business Saturday to kick off the season of giving. The mission of Giving Tuesday is to build a world around the shared power of generosity, reducing suffering and making giving a part of everyday life.

Why participate in Giving Tuesday?

Giving Tuesday is an opportunity to make a difference however you can. Everyone has something to offer: time, a monetary donation, social media support, or even a thank you note or testimonial. You can support nonprofits, specific causes, or fundraisers on Giving Tuesday.

How to participate in Giving Tuesday in Green Bay

Many local nonprofits—including Green Bay Bicycle Collective!—are participating in Giving Tuesday. When you choose a local nonprofit, you directly impact your community—your friends, neighbors, and even those you don’t know.

This Giving Tuesday, we hope you’ll show your support for local nonprofits and Green Bay Bicycle Collective. Even $1 can make a difference in programs that improve the quality of life for Green Bay residents.

Beyond monetary donations, you can also show generosity in Green Bay by:

Is Green Bay Bicycle Collective participating in Giving Tuesday?

Yes! This Giving Tuesday, you can show your support for accessible transportation and a cycling-friendly Green Bay. By donating to Green Bay Bicycle Collective, you’re supporting programs that help vitalize our communities. Your donation will foster the health, safety, and wellness of Green Bay residents—you’ll help provide youth with a healthy, fun activity, teach teens crucial job skills, and improve access to sustainable transportation.

Here's how your donation helps strengthen our community:

Supporting the Green Bay Bicycle Collective means sustaining programs like Earn-a-Bike and the recently launched Mobile Bike Repair, which provide youth and teens access to operational bicycles. Your support also helps us keep our community bike shop operational. The shop is our home base, where we not only refurbish bikes but offer a safe place for youth to hang out and learn bike maintenance skills.

This year, we’re looking to raise $10,000 to help operate these programs and go toward our forever home. Here’s how your donation can help:

      • $20 supplies lights and a lock, helping kids bike safely and preventing theft
      • $50 provides a bike multi-tool for use in our Mobile Bike Repair program
      • $150 supplies a refurbished kid’s bike for our Earn-a-Bike program, where kids can earn a free bike by completing a bike safety course
      • $200 provides a refurbished adult bike that teens can gain through the Earn-a-Bike program or that adults can purchase affordably
      • $500 supplies a toolbox for transporting tools in the Mobile Bike Repair program
      • $1000 can help us find our forever home. We’ve grown out of our current shop and need more space to serve more area youth and residents.
